The March For Science is about science and activism. We need to let our elected leaders know that it’s imperative to not ignore science in favor of biased opinions when making public policies. Who knows better than the local political parties on how to get the attention of elected leaders and future candidates? From the very beginning of the march the Greene County Green Party have been enthusiastically on board, they are excited to have a table on the Square on April 22nd. We’ve also invited the Greene County Democrats and Republicans to participate in this nonpartisan event. Letters to their local headquarters were sent out today and we will follow those letters up with phone calls in a few days.
The first step towards sending that message is by becoming a registered voter. We will be asking the parties in attendance to register voters at their tables and you will have an opportunity to talk to them about your own concerns regarding the current anti-science environment in government.
If you know someone involved in your local political party, put a bug in their ear and tell them to show up to March For Science! You can read the letter we sent out over on our Downloads page.
