Today letters have been sent to 33 of our federal, state and local legislators who represent us here in Southwest Missouri, inviting them to attend the Springfield March For Science. The letter describes the mission of the march and makes them aware that we want them to take science seriously. It includes several examples of how Missourians have benefitted from science as well. We hope that the legislators will take our invite seriously and any response we receive will be shared with you all. Take a look below and see if your rep was sent one.

Included in the envelope was the letter, flyer and press release. Pretty cool, right? What’s even cooler is that the envelopes were stamped with either a Pluto Discovered or Star Trek postage stamps. They were the only two sciencey stamps USPS has at the moment.
We want to extend a special thanks to the Atlanta March For Science for giving us the idea. The sent out several letters and received a response of endorsement back from the Governor of Georgia!
