We need volunteers for all sorts of things, from making signs to setup on the day of the event. From research to phone calls, if you’re willing to help we have a need for you to fill.

INVITE EVERYONE YOU KNOW
The more people that show up on April 22nd, the more likely our elected officials will hear our message. So invite as many people as you can within your circle of friends. Even if they don’t live in the Springfield area, chances are there is another satellite March For Science event nearby.

Our goal is to show the media and our legislators that we should be taken seriously and increasing the number of people who are RSVPing for the Facebook event is very helpful. Here’s how to invite folks from Facebook:

  1. Head on over to the Springfield March For Science Facebook event page: www.facebook.com/events/250245235415115
  2. Click that you’re “Going” on the event page
  3. Next, click on “Share” and then “Invite Friends“.
  4. Then begin to select friends to invite or simply click “Select All”
  5. Sit back, take a sip of your coffee & relax. You did it, you’re done!

 

POST FLYERS IN COMMON AREAS
This will be a big help. If you know of a space which allows flyers to be posted, download a flyer, print them out and get to posting! They can be put into shop windows, bulletin boards or even mailed out. There’s two types, one is a regular flyer and the other has tear-off tabs.

WRITE YOUR LEGISLATORS

This is a great way to really amplify the power of the march, by writing your legislator. We’ve provide a template letter below which you can download, personalize and mail out to your city, state and federal reps.
