Letter To The Editor Regarding M4S

Sarah Bargo of Rogersville, MO wrote a beautiful letter to the Springfield News-Leader that explained why she supports the March For Science and why others, should too.  Please click here to read the letter in its entirety.

One particular passage caught our attention, and we want to give it a special mention here.

Science should neither serve special interests nor be rejected based on personal convictions. At its core, science is a tool for seeking answers. It can and should influence policy and guide our long-term decision-making.

There you have it, folks.  Partisanship has ruined many things in this country, as has the idea that our feelings about a topic are more important than the truth.  Sarah reminds us that science’s primary function is to answer questions and that does not require approval from a political party or our hearts.  The sky is blue even if we hate it, and grass is green regardless of political affiliation. We need to embrace this neutrality and apply it to make thoughtful and informed decisions.

Thank you for your words, Sarah.  We look forward to seeing you there!
